A copper nickel or cupro nickel pipe is a tubular structure that allows it to transport fluids and gases efficiently. The Copper Nickel Pipe is designed with primary constituents of copper, nickel, and ferrous. The pipe can be added with small amounts of niobium, manganese, iron, and chromium to give the Cupro Nickel Pipe better properties. These pipes have good resistance to reducing and corrosive affluents, especially in marine environments. The Cuni Pipe is commercially designed in 90/10 and 70/30 alloys. These pipes are resistant to crevice corrosion and pitting by acids. A Copper Nickel Alloy Pipe is thermally stable and possesses excellent strength. These pipes work well in cryogenic as well as high-pressure and temperature setups. The Cunifer Pipe is designed with a density of 8.94 g/cm3 and possesses a tensile strength between 303 to 414mpa with a yield strength of 110 to 393mpa. A Class 200 copper nickel pipe is the most common grade pipe that can handle 200 psi of internal pressure in marine and industrial setups. The MIL-T-16420K Class 200 Pipe is a standard military-grade for cupronickel pipe. These pipes are common in building surface ships and submarines. A DIN 86019 Copper Nickel Pipe is easy to machine and can be fabricated easily.
Pipes in the copper nickel are generally designed with seamless or welded specifications. A Copper Nickel Seamless Pipe is a single piece of metal that is produced via an extrusion process as steel billets are passed through metal to create a strong grade. The Cupro Nickel Seamless Pipe has a 20% higher load-bearing capacity than other pipe types. The absence of welds allows for smooth flow; however, the cost of producing them is also high. A Copper Nickel Welded Pipe offers a low-cost option in the industry. This pipe is produced by rolling metal and subsequently welding it in place using standard processes. The Cupro Nickel Welded Pipe is recommended in lower pressure and temperature applications. These pipes are very reliable and can work for long periods if properly maintained. Sunflex Metal is state of the art and is constantly being updated and aligned to global industry standards to ensure we remain a world class Copper Nickel Pipe manufacturers in Mumbai, India.
The Molecular Formula of Copper Nickel Pipe is CuNi. Copper nickel seamless pipe has a Density of 0.323 lb/in³ (8.94 g/cm3). The Poisson’s Ratio of Copper nickel piping (C71500 annealed) is 0.325. Copper nickel pipe specifications are, is that they can be obtained in various types of thicknesses, specifications and grades, as per the need. Because of their resistance to corrosion, Cuni Pipes, also known as Cupronickel pipes have tremendous use in saltwater environments. It is in great demand for use in fish cages used for aquaculture, in desalination units and in sea water pipe-work. It is also used in offshore platforms, in boat hull risers, desalination plants, marine hardware used in boats, hydraulic lines and in underwater fencing. The Elongation at Break of Copper nickel (rolled-H04 for flat products/hard drawn-H80 for tubing), is 11.00% and its Elongation at Break (annealed), is 40%.
The Machinability of Copper Nickel Fuel Pipes (based on free-cutting brass = 100) are 20. Cupro nickel composition is a copper alloy that has in it nickel, as well as strengthening elements like manganese and iron. The Yield Strength (annealed) of Cu-Ni Welded Pipe is 15000 psi (103 MPa). Cu-Ni Pipe has a Shear Modulus (C71500 annealed) of 8300 ksi (57.2 GPa). Copper Nickel Round Pipes offers excellent resistance to corrosion and as such it finds wide use for good fabricability and in low macrofouling rates. Such ASTM B466 Copper Nickel Brake Pipes are used a lot in cooling water systems, condensers, crankshafts, silver-plated cutlery, automobile parts, in piping that carries seawater to fire mains, medical equipment, tubes for light-duty condensers and in wooden piles in ship sanitary systems sheathing.
