Cupro nickel condenser tubes composition has copper as the base metal and it is copper that has the highest individual content in it, followed by nickel. So as to increase the strength of copper nickel, its castability, weldability, hardening and resistance to corrosion, other elements are added to it. Copper Nickel U-Bend Tube has an Elastic Modulus (C71500 annealed) of 22000 ksi (152 GPa). Cuni 90/10 Heat Exchanger Tube has a Shear Modulus (C71500 annealed) of 8300 ksi (57.2 GPa). Cu-Ni 90/10 Heater Tube has a Rockwell B Hardness of 69. Copper Nickel Heat Exchanger Tubes are invaluable in heat exchanger construction, power stations and in general industrial plants. 70/30 Cupro Nickel Heat Exchanger Tube has a Thermal Conductivity of 32.9 W/mK (0.0900 BTU in/hr.ft². °F). Copper nickel alloy heater tubing corrosion resistance is high to seawater, organic acids, alkalis, moisture, salt solutions and non-oxidising acids.
Coiled Cuni heat exchanger is also resistant to gases like hydrogen fluoride, oxygen, sulphur dioxide, chlorine, carbon dioxide and hydrogen chloride. The Yield Strength (annealed) of Copper Nickel condenser tubes is 15000 psi (103 MPa). It has a Tensile Strength (annealed) of 52000 psi (359 MPa) and it has a Tensile Strength (rolled-H04 for flat products/ hard drawn-H80 for tubing) of 78000 psi (538 MPa). Cu-Ni 90/10 condenser tubes has a Density of 0.323 lb/in³ (8.94 g/cm3). In spring-hardened condition, Cu-Ni 70/30 condenser tubes displays superb stress relaxation behavior. Is is also solderable and it shows good scaling resistance. Its has excellent cold and hot workability. Cupro Nickel Heat Exchanger Tubes have outstanding value in superheaters, cryogenic vessels, condenser tubes, heat exchanger tubes, etc.
